Trading Journal.

The JOURNAL tab writes your fills to a folder. The Journal page on tradeclone.net reads that same folder and turns them into a full journal: a calendar of daily and weekly P&L, a cumulative curve, a map of every trade, insights, and your own notes.

Nothing is uploaded. The export stays on your machine and the journal reads it from there.

If you have not set TradeClone up yet, start with Getting Started.

The Trading Journal folder

Your Whop download includes a folder called Trading Journal. Unzip it somewhere you will not move it from, such as your Documents folder. Everything lives in there:

journal-data.json
Your trades. TradeClone writes this file; the journal only reads it.
journal-notes.json
Your notes, ratings, setups and check-ins. The journal writes this one.
images/
Screenshots and diagrams you attach to trades and strategies.

Exporting

Open the JOURNAL tab in TradeClone.

Export folder
Press Choose folder and select your Trading Journal folder. TradeClone remembers it, so this is a one-off.
Range
7 days, 30 days, 90 days, this year, or everything.
Include past / disconnected accounts
Off, you get the accounts connected right now. On, TradeClone also offers accounts it has seen before, and the account list appears so you can choose between them.
Accounts
Tick the firms or individual accounts you want. Ticking none includes all of them.

Press Export journal data. TradeClone writes journal-data.json into the folder and tells you how many trades it found.

Accounts are listed by the firm they belong to, the same grouping used for per-account risk.

Opening your journal

  • Go to the Journal page on tradeclone.net.
  • Press Choose your data folder and pick your Trading Journal folder.
  • Your browser will ask permission to read the folder. Allow it.

After that the journal reconnects to the same folder each time you open it, so you land straight on your trades.

Keeping it up to date

Trade, then export again whenever you want the journal current. Re-exporting rewrites journal-data.json only. Your notes, ratings, setups and check-ins are in a separate file and are never touched by an export.

Which browser

Reading a folder from a web page needs the File System Access API, which means Chrome or Edge. Use one of those and your notes are written into the folder as a real file you can back up or move to another machine.

The journal still runs in Firefox and Safari, but it cannot reach the folder, so your notes are held inside that browser instead. Clearing site data or switching browser loses them.

Your journal is a folder on your own computer. Back it up the way you back up anything else, and it moves between machines by copying it across.
